Shiawassee Asset Management
The State of Michigan
Transportation Asset Management Council
PASER Survey of Shiawassee County
Project overview:
Each year, GLS Region V staff, along with representatives of the Shiawassee County Road Commission (SCRC) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), assesses the condition of Shiawassee County federal aid eligible roads using the PASER road rating system as requested by the State of Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council.
Act 499 of the Public Acts of 2002 created the Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) comprised of professionals from County Road Commissions, Commissioners, Cities, Townships, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Regional, and Metropolitan Planning Organizations. P.A. 499 amended Section 9(a) of the Public Acts of 1951 and identified a strategic asset management process for the State of Michigan’s roads and bridges. The new process will be one that is “an ongoing process of maintaining, upgrading and operating transportation assets cost-effectively, and based on a continuous physical inventory and condition assessment”.
The annual PASER Survey Report for Shiawassee County includes maps of the collected road ratings and a year-to-year comparison of ratings for each city, village and township in the county. Please click on the following links to view recent PASER Survey Reports (in Adobe PDF format):
