The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission will be holding a public comment period and public hearing for the Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2029 Genesee County Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP lists four years of federally funded transportation projects and programs proposed for Genesee County’s transportation network. The TIP includes road, public transit, and non-motorized transportation improvements and their proposed costs.
A 30-day public comment period for the Draft FY 2026-2029 TIP will be held from Sunday, April 20, 2025, through Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The TIP is available for public review and comment at the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission office located at 1101 Beach Street, Room 111, Flint, Michigan and on our website at www.gcmpc.org/fy-26-29-tip-public-involvement/. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Comments may be made in person, or by mail, telephone, facsimile, e-mail, or Facebook. This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP is being used to satisfy the public input requirements of the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration.
Additionally, a digital copy of the draft TIP document for public review and comment have been sent to the following locations: the Genesee County Road Commission, Flint Mass Transportation Authority (MTA), the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)-Davison Transportation Service Center, and each Genesee County city, township and village office. A Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the HR Training room G51, Ground Floor, of the Genesee County Administration Building, 1101 Beach Street, Flint, MI, 48502. This hearing complies with the intent of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) legislation.
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission will furnish reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities, upon request. Requests should be made a minimum of 2 business days prior to the meeting. Persons needing language translation assistance will be provided the requested service free of charge, upon request.
