Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Call for Projects
The Genesee County Metropolitan Alliance, with staff assistance from the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC), has begun preparations for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Beginning August 26, 2024, GCMPC will be accepting project applications from public and private transportation providers that have jurisdiction over transportation facilities or services within Genesee County. Project applications will be accepted for: federal road preservation, reconstruction, or expansion programs; the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) program; the transit program; and the Transportation Alternatives and Safe Routes to Schools programs.
The Transportation Improvement Program supports Genesee County’s priorities of healthy, livable, and safe communities as well as long-term financial stability through investment and improvements to infrastructure. Infrastructure enhancements allow safer and more efficient travel while also maintaining financial stability by mitigating future cost burdens.
All applications are due to GCMPC by Monday September 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM. All interested persons wishing to provide input or request information concerning the TIP process are encouraged to contact the appropriate transportation provider and/or GCMPC prior to the application deadline.
