Genesee County Habitat for Humanity
New Construction and Rehabilitation HOME project $300,716
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity is rehabilitating one existing home and constructing three new homes. The homes are located in the Grand Blanc Township, Mt. Morris Township, and Genesee Township. The houses meet the Energy Star standard and will include Energy Star rated appliances and water-sense fixtures. All homes are sold to pre-approved homebuyers that are between 30% and 60% of area median income.

Home Investment Partnership Program – Participating Jurisdiction (PJ) Administration

Genesee County is proposing to set aside 10% of the 2016 HOME funds to continue to oversee the administration, program planning and development of the HOME Program. This project will be administered from the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission office. Funding to complete the project includes Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME Program funding in the amount of $65,732.00

Home Improvement Program

Owner-occupied single family homeowners aged 62 and over are eligible to receive home improvements through Genesee County’s Home Improvement Program (HIP) administered by the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission. The program provides emergency home repair assistance and deferred payment loans. The funds are not eligible for homes located within the non-participating Cities of Clio, Flint and Davison and the Village of Lennon. The HOME funded HIP will assist approximately 25 low- to moderate-income homeowners 62 and over with eligible improvements to their homes and approximately 25 lead based paint assessments. Funding to complete the project includes Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME Program funding in the amount of $275,000.00

Metro Community Development Mortgage Assistance

The project will assist approximately eleven qualified households with affordable mortgages. Funding to complete the project includes Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME Program funding in the amount of $300,000.

Genesee County – Tenant Based Rental Assistance

Genesee County is proposing to assist special needs and homeless populations with rental assistance. Funding to complete the project includes Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME Program funding in the amount of $32,270.00
