Atlas Township – Senior Center Operations

Atlas Township is proposing to provide funding to the Davison Area Senior Center located at 10135 Lapeer Rd. Davison, MI 48423. Funding would be used for the following items: Senior Center Programs, Educational Programs, Instructors and materials, health and safety items such as flu shots, hearing exams, hearing aids, newsletter printing and publishing, public transportation for seniors and disabled residents, Senior Center meals, trip assistant/event assistance programs, emergency radios enhanced, library readers, eyeglasses, senior housing needs, bus transportation, computer classes, CPR training, and bone-density screening.

These activities will be funded with $2,680.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Burton- Senior Center Improvements

The City of Burton is proposing lighting improvements at the Burton Senior Center, located at 3410 S. Grand Traverse in Burton. This project will include the proper disposal of existing incandescent, magnetic ballast and metal halide bulbs and replace them with various wattage LED lights within the interior and exterior of the Burton Senior Center.

These activities will be funded with $28,465.97 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Burton- Infrastructure Improvements

The City of Burton is proposing to install an 8 inch water main within the road right of way on Hemphill from Cheyenne east to Dort Highway, then south on Dort Highway approximately 500 feet to make a complete water loop. The water main to be placed along Hemphill will be located within the City of Burton right of way. The water main on Dort Highway will require securing permission from the Michigan Department of Transportation. Once the water main is installed, the water main on Cheyenne, Menominee, and Dort Highway will be disconnected and capped on the North side of Hemphill and connected the new Burton water main. This project will allow City of Burton residents to be taken off of City of Flint water.

These activities will be funded with $150,764.18 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Burton- Senior Center Operations

The City of Burton is proposing to fund the Senior Citizen Director’s salary at the Burton Senior Citizen Center located at 3410 S. Grand Traverse, Burton, MI 48529.

These activities will be funded with $10,542.67 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Fenton- Demolition of Blighted Structure

The City of Fenton is proposing to demolish the blighted structure located at 206 E. Caroline Street in Fenton. This project will help to eliminate blight in the area.

This activity will be funded with $26,347.87 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Fenton- Park Improvements

The City of Fenton is proposing to install handicapped accessible playground equipment at Bush Park and Millpond Park, located in the City. This project will allow children with disabilities to use the playground at the parks.

This activity will be funded with $13,173.94 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Fenton- Sidewalk Improvements

The City of Fenton is proposing to install handicapped accessible truncated dome curb cuts on Shiawassee Avenue, located in the City. This project will allow residents with wheelchairs to use the sidewalks.

This activity will be funded with $13,173.93 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Fenton- Parks Programming for seniors

The City of Fenton is proposing to assist in the operations of senior programs at the Fenton Community Center, of which are managed by the Southern Lakes Parks and Recreation Authority at 150 S. Leroy Fenton, MI 48430.

This activity will be funded with $3,076.42 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Grand Blanc- Senior Center Improvements

The City of Grand Blanc is proposing to pay for the replacement of gutters and downspouts at the Grand Blanc Senior Center, located at 12632 Pagels Drive in Grand Blanc. This project will prevent the building from deteriorating.

This activity will be funded with $2,200.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Grand Blanc- Sidewalk Improvements

The City of Grand Blanc is proposing to remove sections of sidewalks and curbs throughout the City, in order to replace them with 5’ wide sidewalk and A.D.A. compliant curb ramps. This project will allow residents with wheelchairs to use the sidewalks.

This activity will be funded with $36,123.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Grand Blanc- Senior Center Operations

The City of Grand Blanc is proposing to fund the Senior Center director’s salary located at 12632 Pagels Dr. Grand Blanc, MI 48439.

This activity will be funded with $2,254.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Linden- Removal of Architectural Barriers

The City of Linden is proposing to remove architectural barriers by providing a handicap ramp and door for the front entrance of City Hall, located at 132 E. Broad Street in Linden. This project will allow residents with wheelchairs access to the building.

This activity will be funded with $8,174.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Linden- Senior Center Operations

The City of Linden is proposing to assist in funding operations of the Loose Senior Center located at 707 N. Bridge St. Linden, MI 48451 for expenses such as staff salaries, utilities, and educational classes for seniors.

This activity will be funded with $480.67 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Montrose- Senior Center Operations

The City of Montrose is proposing to assist in funding operations at the Montrose Senior Center located at 200 Alfred Street Montrose, MI 48457.

This activity will be funded with $1,667.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Mt. Morris- Public Safety Equipment

The City of Mt. Morris is proposing to purchase a video camera for a police patrol vehicle that primarily serves a low/moderate income area within the City. The police department is located at 11649 Saginaw St. Mt. Morris, MI 48458.

This activity will be funded with $4,261.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

City of Swartz Creek – Senior Center Operations

The City of Swartz Creek is proposing to assist in funding operations by way of salaries, fringes, supplies, and equipment for the Swartz Creek Area Senior Center located at 8095 Civic Drive, Swartz Creek, MI 48473.

This activity will be funded with $1,727.67 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Fenton Township- Demolition of Blighted Structure

Fenton Township is proposing to demolish the blighted structure located at 12480 Fenton Road, Fenton, 48430. This project will help eliminate blight in the Township.

This activity will be funded with $19,000.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Fenton Township- Street Improvements

Fenton Township is proposing to pay for the paving of the first 100’ of the following intersection approaches: Odell Road at Linden Road; Odell Road at Lahring Road; Fairbanks Road at Thompson Road; Fairbanks Road at Lahring Road; Jennings Road at Thompson Road; Old Linden Road at Thompson Road. This project will improve the streets in a low-to-moderate income area in the Township.

This activity will be funded with $50,000.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Fenton Township- Special Assessment Assistance

Fenton Township is proposing to pay the special assessments for eligible property owners for the planned road improvement special assessment districts including the Alpine Shores No. 4 Subdivision and Silver Ridge Subdivision. This project will help low-to-moderate income households.

This activity will be funded with $35,996.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Flint Township – Senior Center Food Pantry

Flint Township is proposing to provide funding to the Senior Center Food Pantry located at 2071 S. Graham Rd. Flint, MI 48532 to purchase food and supplies for seniors in need.

This activity will be funded with $12,969.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Flushing Township – Senior Center Operations

Flushing Township is proposing to provide funding to the Flushing Area Senior Center at 106 Elm Street, Flushing, MI 48433 to assist in operational expenses.

This activity will be funded with $2,936.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Forest Township – Senior Center Operations

Forest Township is proposing to provide funding for operational expenses for the Forest Township Senior Center located at 130 E. Main St. Otisville, MI 48463.

This activity will be funded with $1,135.67 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Gaines Township – Senior Center Operations

Gaines Township is proposing to fund activities at the Swartz Creek Area Senior Center located at 8095 Civic Drive Swartz Creek, MI 48473 for tai chi, yoga, chair yoga, dancing, square dancing, water color classes, knitting classes, crochet classes, and computer classes.

This activity will be funded with $1,818.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Genesee Township – Senior Center Operations

Genesee Township is proposing to provide funding to the Eastside Senior Citizens Center located at 3065 N. Genesee Rd. Flint, MI 48506 for utilities, phone, sewer, insurance, floor maintenance, postage, and operating supplies.

This activity will be funded with $9,462.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Grand Blanc Township- Senior Center Improvements

Grand Blanc Township is proposing to pay for the replacement of sidewalk sections at the Grand Blanc Senior Center, located at 12632 Pagels Drive, in Grand Blanc. This project will benefit low-to-moderate income individuals.

This activity will be funded with $21,000.87 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Grand Blanc Township- Senior Center Operations

Grand Blanc Township is proposing to pay for senior center staff salary and fridge benefits at the Grand Blanc Senior Center located at 12632 Pagels Drive, in Grand Blanc. This project will benefit low-to-moderate income individuals.

This activity will be funded with $9,546 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Grand Blanc Township- Demolition of Blighted Structure

Grand Blanc Township is proposing to demolish the blighted structure located at 3085 Kettering Heights, Flint, 48507. This project will help to eliminate blight in the Township.

This activity will be funded with $21,000.87 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Grand Blanc Township- Infrastructure Improvements

Grand Blanc Township is proposing to pay for eligible residents in the Bushdale Subdivision to connect their homes to the Township’s public water supply, including water taps, water line construction, and well abandonment. This project will benefit low-to-moderate income households.

This activity will be funded with $34,365 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Grand Blanc Township- Ditching

Grand Blanc Township is proposing to pay for roadside ditching in the Bushdale Subdivision, including the replacement of some driveway culverts and hydro seeding at the end of the project to restore vegetation. This project will improve drainage to prolong the life of the streets and protect properties from flooding.

This activity will be funded with $85,912.65 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Legal Services of Eastern Michigan – Fair Housing

The LSEM Fair Housing Center is proposing to conduct paired tests. LSEM offices are located at 436 S. Saginaw St. Flint, MI 48502.

This activity will be funded with $8,333.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Mt. Morris Township – Senior Center Operations

Mt. Morris Township is proposing to provide funding to the Kraphol Senior Center located at G-5473 Bicentennial Drive, Mt. Morris, MI 48458. Funds will be used for transportation, wages, and other senior citizens programs.

This activity will be funded with $25,236.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Mt. Morris Township – Youth Program Operations

Mt. Morris Township is proposing to provide funding for the King Karate Youth Program located at 5339 N. Saginaw St. Flint, MI 48505 to purchase training equipment.

This activity will be funded with $3,000.00 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Mundy Township – Vocational Independence Program (VIP)

Mundy Township proposes to provide funding to the Vocational Independence Program (VIP) for gardening skills training for disabled persons at 5069 Van Slyke Road Flint, MI 48507.

This activity will be funded with $4,191.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Richfield Township – Recreation Programs

Richfield Township is proposing providing funding to low/moderate income families for expenses associated with recreational programs. Richfield Township Hall is located at 5381 S. State Road Davison, MI 48423.

This activity will be funded with $276.07 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Richfield Township – Senior Center Operations

Richfield Township is proposing to provide funding to the Davison Area Senior Center located at 10135 Lapeer Rd. Davison, MI 48423 for operational expenses.

This activity will be funded with $2,484.60 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Thetford Township – Code Enforcement

Thetford Township is proposing to provide funding for code enforcement and ordinance enforcement.

This activity will be funded with $2,416.67 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.

Vienna Township – Senior Center Operations

Vienna Township is proposing to provide funding for operational expenses at the Clio Area Senior Center located at 2136 W. Vienna Road, Clio, MI 48420 for operations such as daily lunches, commodity food distribution, medical services, recreational services, and educational services.

This activity will be funded with $4,600.33 of 2016 Genesee County CDBG funds.
